The rules for using KrabyData's API with a key.

Who we are
KrabyData is operated by PentaLab SRL, Brussels, Belgium (company number to be added). Write to contact@krabydata.com about anything on this page.
Your key
- A key is personal. It belongs to one person or one product, named by the email it was issued to. Do not share it, sell it or publish it.
- You are responsible for what is done with your key. If it leaks, tell us and we revoke it and issue another.
- One free key per email address.
What each plan allows
A key is issued on a plan. What you may do with the data depends on it:
- Free
Evaluation and prototypes: trying the data and building something to show it. Not for running a product that others rely on.
- Pro
Use inside your own product, including a commercial one, showing the data to your own users. You may cache answers for up to 24 hours. No bulk export, no resale, and no publishing a dataset built from the data.
- Licence
Negotiated, from €149 a month. Bulk delivery as files, daily or per quarter, and the right to load the data into your own database and serve it to your customers or include it in a dataset you sell, with the attribution "data by KrabyData" wherever it is shown. Only the SEC-derived datasets and the identity layer are ever licensed. European issuer files are never licensed, at any price, until their issuers agree in writing, and the cusip and sedol fields never are.
Anything the plan does not allow needs a written licence from us. The data licence adds the rules of each source.
Limits
Each plan has a daily quota, counted per UTC day, and a per-minute rate. Today the free plan allows 300 requests a day and 30 a minute; the pro plan 50,000 a day and 600 a minute. Past a limit the API answers 429 until the minute or the day is over; nothing is charged for it. Do not work around a limit with several keys.
We may change a plan's limits with 30 days' notice by email. A change that lowers a paid plan's limits lets you cancel with a refund of the unused part.
What the data is
The data comes from public sources, mainly SEC filings, and is described on each answer. Holdings from SEC filings are two to five months old. We check what we can, but sources contain mistakes and so can our processing. KrabyData is not investment advice and must not be the only basis for a financial decision. What you may do with the data is in the data licence.
Availability
We aim to keep the API up and say on the status page when a source is late. There is no uptime guarantee on the free plan. Paid plans' commitments, if any, are in their order.
Revoking a key
We may revoke a key, without notice when it is urgent, if it is shared or published, used to get around the limits, used to redistribute data against the data licence, used to attack or overload the service, or if a paid plan goes unpaid. We tell the key's owner why, except where the law prevents it. You may ask us to revoke your key at any time.
Liability
The free plan is provided as it is. For paid plans, our liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim, except where the law does not allow a limit.
Changes and law
We announce changes to these terms by email to key owners 30 days ahead. Belgian law applies; the courts of Brussels decide disputes.
